Welcome to SPRiNG Nigeria
Strengthening Peace and Resilience in Nigeria (SPRiNG) is a UK-funded programme working to foster peace, resilience, and inclusive governance in conflict-affected communities across North-West and North-Central Nigeria. By addressing the root causes of conflict and vulnerability, SPRiNG supports efforts to reduce violence, strengthen local systems, and build a more climate-resilient future.
Our work is grounded in a politically informed, evidence-based approach that integrates environmental science, political economy, and conflict analysis. Through partnerships with local actors, civil society organisations, and government institutions, we aim to create long-term, sustainable change from the ground up.
What to Expect
As we prepare to share more about our work, this space will soon feature:
- Knowledge Centre – insights, analysis, and evidence that guide our programming and contribute to learning across the peacebuilding and resilience sectors.
- Impact Stories – real stories from the ground highlighting how local communities are leading change, resolving conflict, and building resilience.
- Events – upcoming engagements, dialogues, and learning opportunities from across the SPRiNG network.
- Research and Analysis – evidence from SPRiNG’s ongoing research activities that inform our approach and help close critical knowledge gaps in conflict prevention, governance, and resilience.

Rapid Response Research
Assessment of the Conduct of Law Enforcement Personnel during the August 2024 Nationwide Protests
Following the announcement of the 10-day nationwide #EndBadGovernance protests in response to rising economic hardship in Nigeria, the CLEEN Foundation submitted a proposal to SPRiNG to monitor potential human rights violations during the demonstrations.
Through a network of 109 observers across all 36 states, data was collected using a tailored monitoring tool and verified by a central Situation Room team in Abuja.
