Who We Are

Building Peace and Resilience

SPRiNG is a four-year peacebuilding initiative (2024–2028) funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). Led by Tetra Tech, in partnership with Nextier SPD, the Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD), and the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD), SPRiNG works to foster peace and stability across Nigeria.
The programme promotes coexistence among diverse communities and strengthens conflict prevention and resolution efforts. By integrating peacebuilding into rural development and climate resilience projects, SPRiNG addresses the root causes of violence while improving livelihoods and social cohesion.
Through evidence-based strategies and strong local partnerships, SPRiNG supports sustainable, community-driven solutions for a more peaceful and resilient future.

Our Impact

SPRiNG’s Projects and Impact

Since launching in May 2024, SPRiNG has been working with communities across Nigeria to build peace and resilience from the ground up.
By prioritising collaborative research, SPRiNG partners with local stakeholders to explore how land use and management impact conflict. Together, we co-create evidence-based interventions to address land-related tensions.
Pilot projects are underway to boost agricultural productivity and promote sustainable practices among farmers and pastoralists—fostering cooperation and reducing conflict. Recognising the role of water scarcity in farmer-herder clashes, SPRiNG also supports initiatives that improve equitable access to water resources.
Through technical support to local ministries and organisations, SPRiNG strengthens institutional capacity for long-term conflict resolution.
At its core, SPRiNG is about local leadership—ensuring communities drive the solutions for a more peaceful and sustainable future.

Workstreams

Building a path to lasting peace and stability

SPRiNG’s workstreams were designed based on participatory research undertaken during its inception phase. This research identified the key issues that SPRiNG should seek to address.

SPRiNG will promote partnerships with relevant federal institutions mandated to address conflict issues and which work in sectors that are relevant to addressing the root causes of conflict.

We work across diverse sectors to foster peace, build community resilience, and reduce structural inequalities. Each focus area is guided by evidence, powered by partnerships, and shaped by local realities
